Simple Minds rocker Jim Kerr is taking a hiatus from the band to release his first ever solo album.

The Don’t You (Forget About Me) hitmaker will rename himself Lostboy! AKA for the project, an attempt to reconnect with his musical roots.

Kerr has yet to announce the name of the album, but has booked concert dates to promote the record in May in his native Scotland.
