So ever since I got the heartbreakingly awful Wii Fit age of FORTY-TWO (!!!!), I’ve been playing Wii Fit at least once a week. I’ve gotten pretty good at Slalom Skiing, Hula-hooping, and Soccer, if I may say so myself. Enter Wii Fit Plus!! Of course, Nintendo had to launch the upgrade to shake things up a bit!! The new version is SO fun. I’ve been testing it (aka playing it non-stop, whenever I’m not at work) for the last two weeks. Highlights include:
- you can add a pet Mii! My family dog Otto is now immortalized as a cute little dog–and you can weigh the dog and even jog with him in the running game!
- a new flying game. OK, clearly that’s not me in the picture, but you get the gist. Chicken suit graphic + flapping your arms like a crazy person = majorly sore arms!
- you can string together your favorite exercises to create a custom routine!
- calorie count: OK, it’s a tad depressing when you learn how long it takes to burn off a slice of cake… But still… Good to know! If you’re a Wii Fitaholic, definitely check out the new Wii Fit Plus–it’s available at
Amazon.com now!

The Flashy, Feathery Flapper
I rarely go out for Halloween, but this year, I got an invitation to
this really cool loft party hosted by a friend of mine who’s actually a
fashion stylist. So I can only imagine how many of her
super-fashionable friends will be in attendance and the phases of
fashion history that will be represented in costume. Therefore I need
my costume to be something timeless. I prefer to play a real life
character, as opposed to a fictional one and not only that, but a
character that I can totally picture myself being if I lived in their
respective time.
So, this year I’m going to be a Speakeasy
Party Girl! In the 1920s speakeasies were known for their live music
and all-night dancing. They attracted many flappers who rebelled
against the idea of girls being at home on a Friday night and used
their signature style to become these sort of social butterflies. This
look would be effortless to pull off, because this dress would pretty
much accomplish the look and I’d just accessorize with a sparkly
headband and some long, feathery false eyelashes, pumps and a really
artsy handbag. The dress is vintage and my favorite thing about it, is
the feathers along the bottom — they’re super-soft and sway with any
movement. I can’t wait to put this look together and party in it as if
it’s something I wear everyday.
