Massive Attack’s Albarn Awe

Massive Attack say Damon Albarn is an “absolute genius”.The ‘Teardrop’ duo had a range of guest stars appearing on their forthcoming new album but say working with the Blur and Gorillaz star was the most daunting.Band member Grant ‘Daddy G’ Marshall told Gigwise: “How do you produce Damon? The Cinematics Perform New Mexico Live @ FF

As The Cinematics are busy slurping down their third cup of tea this morning, I thought I would share this cute little video of frontman Scott Rinning belting out their single, New Mexico for you.

Perched on our comfy office couch, Scott yanked out his guitar for an exclusive performance of their hit just for the FF readers, and I‘ve got to …

The Cinematics Review: The Boy Who Trapped the Sun - Watermark EP

I know these guys, they are friends of ours.  We got to know them as they were some of the few musicians kicking around the highland music scene at the same time as us in the early naughties.  He is from the picturesque and remote Isle of Lewis which has had knack of giving birth too many great musicians of late.

Now to the music, it is …

The Cinematics Review: Screaming Lights - Hello Tomorrow

The bit of blurb on the front of the CD cover says they share a fair bit with fellow Liverpudlians Teardrop Explodes and Echo and the Bunneymen, this just isn’t true.  This is by no means a slur on the actual music, I just find it hilarious when bands (including mine) are given comparisons which bear no resemblance to them at all.

The Cinematics Review: Natalie Imbruglia - Want

Ok, I’m trying my best to hate this. Traditionally my instinct is to distrust any music which comes from somebody who was on tv or in a film first, with the exception of David Hasselhoff of course, but this is actually an alright piece of pop nonsense.

My band mates have despaired in the past when I have come in to the practice room sa…

Style Council: Amalia’s Halloween Ballerina Costume!

Amalia Ballerina CostumeHello fashion lovers! So as you all know, Halloween is just around the corner and I know that you guys are anxious to find
the perfect costume! Well last year, I was a lovely ballerina! I’ve
always dreamt of being a ballerina, but I know that that wouldn’t
become a reality because I’m not really serious about it. Sooo, I
decided that I could be one for a night! I borrowed a friend’s leotard,
bought the tutu and crown from Claire’s, and the thigh highs from Hot Topic.
I wore my hair in a bun because that’s the traditional hairstye for
ballerinas. I also added a twist to my costume by wearing heels! I
wanted to feel like a ballerina with an edge. Overall, I loved my
costume and I had a lot of fun putting it together! This look is pretty
easy to mimic! What do you all think?
