OK, here’s the truth: I’m NOT a Barbie Girl. In fact, my mom didn’t let me play with them growing up because she feared they would “hamper my creativity and alter my views on body image.” NOT exactly what you want to hear when you’re, like, six years old. Maybe that’s why now, 20-odd years later, I love Stila’s new Barbie Loves Stila collection! It’s out at stilacosmetics.com today. My favorite are the smudge pots, ultra-rich and sparkly shades of gel liner ($20 each).

The Audition have been regulars around the UK for the last couple of years. Touring with the likes of Alkaline Trio, You Me At Six, Madina Lake and playing on the main stage at this years Slam Dunk Festival its fair to say a lot of people have heard of these guys.

You know her outfits are crazy, but have you noticed how insane her makeup is too, even when she isn’t wearing a haute-couture bird’s nest on her face? What do you think of her super weirdo VMA look? Do you think she’s totally rocking this pink-streaked Marilyn Monroe-esque ‘do? Do you prefer her poker face to this super amped up sparkly black eye makeup and powdered nose? Do you think it looks like she made a pit stop to Dunkin’ Donuts before the VMA’s and got attacked by powdered donuts? Tell us what you think, in the comments!

As we are getting older, it becomes harder to be original when it comes to dressing up for Halloween,
because we always get caught up in wanting to be something fun, but
also sexy. For this upcoming Halloween, my friends and I have decided
to also dress up on Friday for school as something fun that can be
transformed at night on Halloween. We’re going to be Pink Ladies and I
was leaning on being Sandra Dee after her makeover. I thought that
tight high pants and an off-the-shoulder blouse is perfect — it’s still
showing off some skin and your body, while keeping you warm during a
chilly night. I found some great pants that are kind of expensive from
American Apparel, but make a great investment — the black disco pant and you can get any off the shoulder black spandex like shirt from Target or JCPenney. Pair these items with a pair of patten heels or even red ones to add some color.
Luckily my friends found some complete outfits and/or jackets at costumexpress.com if you decide to create your own Sandra Dee or even Rizo look! Lastly,
if you don’t have blond hair you can also find wigs that are great for
this look and can be used for many more Halloweens to come. I think
that this is totally suitable for school and then after, you can take
off the jacket to show off your shoulders and if you get cold you
always have the jacket that’s a part of the look. That’s actually what
I find so hard sometimes about Halloween — finding the perfect
sweater or item to fit with my costume without ruining it!
