On Friday, Sephora celebrated the opening of their second store in Times Square with a day long event filled with Guinness World Record contests and more. When I arrived, they were just starting their second competition to break a Guinness World Record by trying to do the most makeovers with 5 artists in one hour! As people lined up to get their free makeover and the artists were hard at work, Gossip Girl Taylor Momsen arrived to help celebrate. I got the chance to speak with the young starlet one-on-one who was clad in a super-cute plaid dress. After discussing how awesome her new cover for the September issue of Teen Vogue was, she told me how she loves to wear dramatic makeup. I asked her what her must-have beauty products were and she immediately said “a bright lip”, like the deep red that she was sporting that moment. Since Taylor just started her own band, the Pretty Reckless, I asked her what bands she is currently listening to. She went on to say how she likes to listen to her “staple bands that I’ve been listening to for a while: The Beatles, Nirvana, Blondie, Garbage” (and she even mentioned that she’s recently been listening to Eminem’s new album!) A fan of rock music myself, I asked Taylor if her band was planning on touring again this year, but she’ll be busy wrapped up in taping Gossip Girl episodes for a while. Taylor said, “I love being back, I love getting back into that routine.” Clearly happy being back on the Gossip Girl set, she did mention that her band will probably continue to play some shows in New York. Just barely 16 years old with a successful tv show and record deal, this young star seems like she has a lot ahead of her!
