When you’re stressed out, there’s enough on your mind without having to worry about acne! Acne is caused by lots of different
factors, like stress, hormones, and even genetics. Check out these new
Proactiv products that will help you get flawless skin just in time for
back-to-school season! Proactiv was created specifically for girls to
address their acne
problems and skincare needs. No wonder it won a Seventeen Beauty Award for Best Acne System in the July issue!
Clear Purifying Mask ($20): a light, lotion-like clear
mask made with sulfur, which is proven to help fight acne and balance
moisture. We love that it can be used as
a mask or a night lotion!
Mini-Maintenance System ($17): the 3-Step System is Proactiv’s core product offering, with
more than 2 million active users nationwide! Each step has a different
function, but used together, the products help to clean up existing
pimples and prevent future breakouts. They gently exfoliate while also
getting rid of acne-causing bacteria.
Medicated Blemish Stick ($18): an anti-acne concealer made with salicylic acid to help unclog
pores and conceal blackheads, whiteheads, and other blemishes. It comes
in four shades to match your specific skin tone: light, medium, tan, or
dark. This on-the-go stick also features a blendable formula for
natural-looking coverage. Remember these tips when applying:
-Dot concealer lightly on blemishes
-Use fingertips or sponge to blend in
-If going outside, use a sunscreen on top of concealer
What do you use on your skin to hide blemishes and prevent breakouts? Let us know!

Girls, I’m LOVING my curls these days. Now that I have this Keratin
treatment in my hair, for the first time in my life I can wash…and go!
After I got my treatment done, the stylist recommended that I wash my
hair using a “sulfate-free” shampoo and conditioner. If you go to the
drugstore, you’ll find that most shampoos contain sulfates (some of
them are ammonium laureth sulfate, ammonium lauryl sulfate, sodium
laureth sulfate, sodium lauryl sulfate). These common detergents found
in shampoos make curly hair frizzier because they strip your hair of
its natural oils. And if you have curly hair, that’s not a good thing.
So here are some of my fave sulfate-free shampoo and conditioners:
*L’Oreal EverPure Rosemary Juniper Smooth Shampoo and Conditioner
*TiGi Bedhead Superstar Sulfate-free Shampoo For Thick Massive Hair
*DevaCurl No-Poo Shampoo
