Give Yourself A ‘Piticure’ With Dove Ultimate Deodorant!

Give Yourself A ‘Piticure’ With Dove Ultimate Deodorant!

dove-smooth.jpgLast week, I attended the Dove PitiCure Spa Pavilion at the South Street Seaport in New York. Dove created a mobile free spa treatment called a PitiCure, which basically is to your underarms what a pedicure is to your feet! There were individual rooms with licensed professionals performing an underarm exfoliation, a massage, and cleansing treatment. You also got to take home a bottle of their latest product, the Dove Ultimate Visibly Smooth Deodorant, which minimizes the look and feel of underarm hair over time. Not to mention it has a great scent! (I took home the nature fresh, and I LOVE the smell).  But in case you missed it, they have a step-by-step formula for doing your own PitiCure at home!

Step 1: Underarm Exfoliation–Use a gentle exfoliating scrub or wipe to cleanse underarms and help remove impurities.
Step 2: Rinse–Rinse off and gently dry underarms with towel.
Step 3: Apply Dove Visibly Smooth anti-perspirant/deodorant–Underarm hair will look and feel less noticeable with continuous use over time. Within weeks of regular use, underarm hair feels softer, finer and easier to remove. It offers 24-hour odor and wetness protection, and contains Dove 1/4 Translucent Moisturizers that care for delicate underarm skin.

If you give yourself an at-home PitiCure, let me know what you think!

Julianne Hough Shares Beauty, Fashion, and Workout Secrets!

Julianne Hough (pronounced “huff”) is totally a multi-tasker. She’s won twice on Dancing with the Stars, and has also won twice at the Academy of Country Music Awards. Now she’s sharing tons of her beauty, fashion, and workout secrets with Seventeen.com! Her summer tips will help you look and feel like a goddess, without breaking the bank. Julianne also dishes about shaving her arms, shaking off nerves before her Footloose audition, and her hot country singer bf! Be sure to check out Julianne’s “Goddess Guide to Getting Closer,” which is available online here.

17: How are you staying in shape this summer on tour?

JH: We have mandatory fun exercise 30 minutes a day. We always do something fun — we’ve been playing wiffleball and ultimate frisbee, and we’ll find parks that have obstacle courses. I always tweet about where we’re at. Since I’m performing at amphitheaters, I’ll try to run up and down the stairs and across the field. But luckily, I have my dog Lexi, because I definitely wouldn’t run as much if it weren’t for her.

17: What is your idea of the perfect dream date?

JH: I feel like I already went on my perfect dream date — it was my first date with Chuck. (Editor’s Note: Julianne and her bf Chuck Wicks have now been dating for over a year!) First, we went to Disneyland with my whole family, which was just crazy. Then we went to Santa Monica in Los Angeles for sushi, and he kept the little matches box and wrote “#1″ on it for our first date. We were going to go see a movie, but we had an hour to kill, so we went down to the Santa Monica Pier and went on the Ferris wheel overlooking the beach. It was the perfect moment, because we got right to the top, and they stopped the ride. The moon was shining, and the water was below us, and the music was playing. I went in for the kiss, and then he went in to finish it off, so it was perfect.

17: What’s your secret confidence trick?

JH: When I’m really nervous, or when I’m first going to take the stage at an audition, I always tell myself, “You are so awesome! You are the best thing that has ever happened!” I totally build myself up. If I go in feeling shaky, that never works. Right before my Footloose audition, I went into the bathroom and was just sitting there and said to myself, “They’ll love you! Just go!” I think it works. It’s like that book, The Secret, where you just put it out there.

Curly Girly Blog: The Best Curl Treatment Ever!

YeseniaI LOVE my curly hair, but what I don’t love is the frizz and pouf. And
I would NEVER relax my curls — I don’t like the idea of using harsh
chemicals in my hair and I definitely don’t like the idea of having
re-growth. But now that the summer is here, I’mCurly Girly Logo feeling like I need something to tame this frizz! So I’ve been hearing
tons about the Keratin hair treatment that so many salons are now
offering. Keratin (a protein that’s found naturally in healthy skin,
hair, and nails) doesn’t damage your hair the way traditional relaxers
do — instead, it adds a conditioning layer to your hair and transforms
frizzy hair into silky smooth, shiny strands. It lasts up to five
months, depending on how often you wash your hair (gradually you wash
away the Keratin). So just this past Friday I decided to get it done at
the John Frieda Salon in
NYC.

30 Days of Mascara: Benefit BADgal Lash Mascara

bad-gal-lash.jpgMy lash type: Sparse, short-to-medium length, straight
I tried: Benefit BADgal lash mascara
Thoughts: I have to admit, I was totally surprised by the great results I got from this mascara–not necessarily because I doubted the mascara itself, but because I personally prefer a softer, more subtle lash effect (versus the all-out sexy look of LOTS and LOTS of mascara). When I considered the name of this mascara along with its jumbo-sized brush, I expected to automatically end up with a very heavy application, but the first couple of swipes coated my lashes with the perfect amount of product, leaving my lashes looking fuller yet still natural. I didn’t have any clumping issues whatsoever and could easily have continued re-applying more mascara to my heart’s content. Now that I think about, I’m going to hold on to BADgal and try a more intense, blacked-out lash look on a day when I’m in more of a bad-girl mood…
Best for: Someone who wants one versatile mascara that can take them from a very natural, voluminous lash look to a super dramatic, sexy effect. Those with unsteady hands (like me) may need a practice run or two to learn how to wield the fat brush without getting any mascara on the skin.
Buy it at: Bloomingdale’s stores or benefitcosmetics.com for $19.
