How Can I Get Selena Gomez’s Gorgeous Curls?

selena-gomaz-hair.jpgWho wouldn’t want her luscious, thick locks? I know I wish I had her hair!!! TRESemme celebrity stylist Mara Roszak answers the question that I’ve gotten from so many of you gals!

  • Apply a dollop of Moroccan oil on damp hair.  Blow dry with a medium-sized boar bristle round brush.
  • Using a 1 1/4″ barrel curling iron, curl the sections (on both sides) in front of the ears away from the face.  Curl the rest of the head rotating in different directions.  This creates a more natural wave.
  • Spray TRESemme Frizz Shield Finishing Spray all over, and brush through curls with fingers.
  • Apply a small amount of TRESemme Anti-Frizz Secret Smoothing Cryme on hands, and run through hair to tame fly-aways and add shine.

In My Makeup Bag: Alison Raffaele Acne Response Primer

anti-acne-primer.jpgAs someone who is prone to occasional breakouts, I’ve regularly had to deal with the hassle of trying to treat and cover a pimple at the same time. If I dab a spot treatment onto the zit, that area becomes drier and makes it virtually impossible to get an even application of concealer or foundation over it. (Anyone else know what I’m taking about? It drives me nuts!) For a while now, I’ve wanted to try a primer to give my skin a smooth texture before putting on makeup, but my fear of further clogging my pores and breaking out even more has always held me back…UNTIL NOW.

Makeup artist Alison Raffaele has made my beauty wish come true by creating an ingenious primer that’s perfect for girls like me! Her Face Forward Acne Response Primer pretty much does it all: minimizes pores, makes your skin feel super smooth and velvety, normalizes oil production, provides SPF 15 protection, and–here’s my favorite part–contains oligopeptides that are proven to help treat and prevent breakouts. I’ve been using it for almost a week now, and it really does make my concealer go on much more easily and seamlessly, even over the areas where I have blemishes. And so far, no additional bumps to report!

Simple Sugars Gets You Glowing!

lani-body-scrubs.jpgHands down, my favorite part of my job is meeting teens–from pro-surfers and snowboarders to authors–who are doing interesting things. Fifteen-year-old Lani Lazzari is no exception! The Pittsburgh native started her own line of body scrubs, Simple Sugars, when she was just fourteen, and since then the scrubs have totally taken off. Lani, who has incredibly sensitive (and, might I add, gorgeous) skin got to work formulating her own blend of all natural sugar scrubs when her mom suggested they exchange handmade Christmas gifts one year.
