Simplegoesxx: You are a constant source of beauty inspiration! You recently asked for tips on how to protect your hair in the summer.
Well, I’m partial to Barex’s Sun Essentials Collection… The products are environmentally friendly, biodegradable and, naturally, recyclable! Before I hit the beach, I work their Sun Essential Oil (which contains UV filters, and rice and meadowfoam oil to soften locks… and it smells divine!) into my hair, especially the ends. Visit Beautyhabit.com to buy.
I also asked TRESemme celebrity stylist Mara Roszak for her top tip POST-sun exposure. Her response: “After coming out of the water, pool or ocean, coat hair lightly with TRESemm?? Vitamin E Moisture Rich Conditioner. Conditioner will protect the hair from sun or heat damage!”

This blog is about essentials for your superamazing summer to be! To keep this short and sweet my favorite summer essentials
can be found at the following stores…
Levi’s
is good for the perfect jean short. I like to wear mine a little baggy,
and a great color to sport is white! I wear my white Levi’s jean shorts with a black blazer to contrast and keep me warm on the breezy nights. Another staple of mine is tanks from American Apparel — their breezy tanks will keep you uniformed all summer.

Springtime in NY brings some weird weather. It’s 90 degrees one day then a cool 60 and thunder showers the next. No one wants to wear their leftover winter clothing on the cool days so it’s all about taking your favorite summer piece and layering it up!
Our current favorite summer pick-me-up item in the Seventeen office is anything floral. In addition to the Seventeen Interns, The City girl Whitney has been loving floral too! How cute is Whitney in her Wildfox Couture tee and motorcycle jacket? Love the bold purple long sleeve Tucker by Gaby Basora blouse too!
Check out how the Seventeen Fashion Interns go from winter blaaaah to summer cheer with floral prints.

Love Miley’s look? Now you can get her rock and roll style on the cheap! She’s teamed up with Max Azria (of BCBG Max Azria) on a new line of cute clothes for Walmart. The line, which includes tees, pants, tops, plus shoes and accessories, pulls from my Miley’s own style. And the best part? Everything is under $20! Good deal, right?
But what does Miley think? “I love creating looks that are all about personal expression and individuality,” she says. “Collaborating with Max Azria has been an amazing experience, and I’m really excited about launching this line with Walmart. There’s even more to come!”
The line comes out in early August, so be on the lookout!

Hey Guys! So after what seemed like the world’s longest
winter, summer is FINALLY here! And to celebrate, I picked out some
pieces that will work with any girl’s
summer wardrobe, and they are all under $20!
First, flip-flops — no trip to the beach is
complete without them, and the best ones are cheap, waterproof, and
colorful. My faves are the old standby “Havainas” and while they make
the coolest prints on their flip-flops, I love the classic one-color sandals (and at $18, who wouldn’t?).

Want to get Alice Cullen’s–oops, I mean Ashley Greene’s!–pretty, vintage-y makeup look from the Mtv Movie Awards? You’re in luck! Here’s the breakdown, courtesy of makeup artist Jamie Greenberg:
Eyes
“Use mark’s I-mark Custom Pick Eye Color in Whisper to highlight under the brow, and I-mark Custom Pick Eye Color in Latte on the lid and blend it into the crease. Then take On the Edge Hook-Up Liquid Liner in Cleo to create a Sophia Lauren-style cat eye. Just dash along the lash line, then go over it again, you can always go even thicker for more drama. Then curl lashes and apply two coats of Scanda-Lash Hook-Up Mascara in Blacklash. You can even take some Eyemarker Color On Line in Java and blend into the lower lash line for definition.”
Face
“Use Face Xpert Flawless Touch Foundation in Ivory to get that porcelain glow and even skin look. For any imperfections or under the eye area just add a little Good Riddance Hook-Up Concealer. Make sure everything is applied evenly, using a foundation brush usually works best. Then on the apple of your cheeks use Just Pinched Instant Blush Tint in Berry which goes gorgeously with red pout. You also want to highlight right above the cheekbone with some Get Bright Hook-Up Highlighter, this will really shape the face!”
Lips
“Lastly, apply KissInk Lip Tintmarker in Red Siren. If you’re not into a matte finish you could add some glossiness with Lip Exotics Lip Lacquer Hook-Up in Fever.”
