Danica Patrick Has a Body by Milk
Not only is Danica Patrick the first woman to win an IndyCar race, but she’s also super nice, totally down to earth, and the latest celeb to join the Body By Milk campaign! I caught up with Danica this week as she celebrated the unveiling of her ad, and picked her brain for what it takes to be racing’s hottest star and how she keeps herself in shape.
1. Congratulations! How does it feel to be the face of milk?
It’s very flattering! They’ve had such a successful campaign for as long as I can remember. It’s a real honor to be part of something so iconic.
2. What did you think when you first saw the final ad?
I actually saw it at the shoot that day! The team was really great and I was able to pick through a couple of shots and look through them on the spot. I’ve had the picture for a while, and I think it’s so great–I’ve been long awaiting this launch of the campaign!
3. How did you get ready for the shoot?
I live a very healthy lifestyle all the time - I work out every day so for me, that picture is just me all the time. I didn’t do anything extra to look good for the shoot, it’s just because I take care of myself.
4. Do you wear makeup when you race?
No, I don’t. I really just wear moisturizer and a tinted sunscreen and that’s as far as it goes! And I comb my hair out! So unfortunately, most of the pictures people see of me are right out of the car, on the tracks with no makeup on!
5. What’s your secret beauty trick?
Off the track, it took me a really long time to do it, but washing my face at night, no matter what, has been really helpful. And I think that you never have to go really crazy with working out or dieting, you just have to do it consistently. I really believe in everything in moderation.
6. What products can’t you live without?
Moisturizer for my face, it’s from my esthetician. Really just the basics of the face–concealer, powder blush and mascara, nothing else is really necessary. A good pair of running shoes is key because working out is really important!
7. What about your fitness routine?
I work out every day, I do something like running or lifting weights. I’ll take off one day every week maybe, but I’m very committed. Not just for my job but for myself.
8. What motivates you to keep practicing?
Nothing makes me happier than doing my job well and going out on the track and performing. So everything else I take really seriously, taking care of myself and working out and staying in shape, drinking milk! That’s all part of my drive for success.
