After answering Emily’s Beauty Crisis question about what to do with her long, curly hair, I started to think, “Hey! Maybe it’s time I made a change too.” For months, I felt like a bad imitation of an Olsen twin, endlessly debating what to do with my hair, and constantly pestering my pals for advice. Thanks so much, ladies, for not letting me do anything too dramatic! But the blunt shoulder length cut I wrote about for Emily seemed like the perfect solution to my boring old ‘do.
I gathered my courage, and off I went to Butterfly Studio Salon to see the incredible Stacy. Almost everybody I asked for advice up until meeting Stacy was horrified to hear that I wanted to part with my long hair, but Stacy was just as excited as I felt, so I knew I was in good hands. Though that’s not to say I wasn’t freaking out a little (ok, a LOT)! In the end, I parted with about six inches of hair, and it feels so SO good! I was terrified the shorter length would be a return to my third grade pyramid poodle cut, but I feel so much more put together with short hair, and now I’m actually thinking I’d like to take it up another inch or two. So, all you girls out there who are unsure or nervous about taking the plunge–GO FOR IT! You’ll be glad you did.
