Girl of the Week: Megan Delgado

xrde117_snapshot.jpgAGE: 19
HOMETOWN: San Antonio, TX

WHAT SHE’S WEARING: “I’m wearing a blue dress that I found in my mom’s closet, and a Forever 21 hat, bracelet, and necklace. You can’t see them, but I was also wearing black scrunchy boots from Steve Madden.”

NOTE TAKER: “I’m not heavily influenced by celebrities, but I would have to say that I admire the way Rachel Bilson and Gwen Stefani dress. I also like Mary-Kate Olsen’s daring and unique style. Other then that, I’m mostly inspired by everyday people I see on sites like weardrobe, lookbook, and myspace, as well as fashion blogs–particularly Fashion Pirates and Sea of Shoes.”

STYLE CHAMELEON: “I don’t even know if I have a style. I like a lot of different things, but if I had to choose a word to describe my style it would be eclectic. In general, I don’t really like to stick to one look because it becomes boring and predictable.”

TOP IT OFF: “I really like scarves–there are so many different patterns, colors, and textures to choose from. I also like long necklaces–the one in the picture is my favorite. It’s a wooden heart with a ring on it.”

PICK AND CHOOSE: “My absolute favorite designer is Marc Jacobs. I like how he isn’t afraid to play with colors or shapes. I also love Miu Miu, especially their 2008 Spring Collection. I think John Galliano is a genius–his runways remind me of Broadway Musicals. Christian Lacroix and Karl Lagerfeld are also on my list of favorites, and I think Christian Louboutin makes the prettiest and most daring shoes around.”

FACTORY GIRL: “I really love art! My favorite person has to be Andy Warhol. I like a lot of his work because he took simple things and made them unique. I also love the movie Factory Girl, as Edie Sedgwick inspires me. In my spare time, I like to take pictures with my NikonD40 of anything and everything. I do not have a blog at the moment, but my myspace has a lot of pictures up: www.myspace.com/lil_ol_meg.”

RETRO REVIVAL: “I would love for the trends and dresses from the 60’s to make a comeback. I’m obsessed with that era! I love the style of Edie Sedgwick and trends like winged eyeliner.”

STOCK UP: “My favorite store is Forever21. It’s reasonably priced and there are a lot of styles to choose from. Plus, they’ve got great necklaces! I’m also a fan of Urban Outfitters for the clothes, shoes and accessories. American Apparel is good for basic items. I also like shopping at Target, especially for their GO International collaborations.”
