Cornelia Zicu is an absolutely brilliant aesthetician who, after opening her own eponymous spa on New York City’s Fifth Avenue, now is the Red Door Spas Chief Creative Officer. Below, some at-home spa tips…
1. Revitalize dull winter hair with a gloss treatment!
To create shine and add movement to your hair texture without spending a lot of money, create an at home chamomile tea wash.
- Boil water and make a STRONG chamomile tea (best for blonde hair).
- Refrigerate until cool and pour on to clean hair and dry/style as usual.
Chamomile is a strong anti bacterial and hydrating agent. Works great in blonde hair and when sun catches the chamomile it will add gorgeous dimension/highlights! For darker hair use Nettle tea in place of chamomile, this will add ultra shine to your locks.

Environmental lifestyle expert Danny Seo is back with great tips on how to make your school life more eco-friendly:
“If you keep extra shoes in your locker, I think it’s a good idea to line the bottom of your locker with newspaper. It’ll absorb any residual dirt, pesticides and other chemicals our shoes drag into buildings. Newspaper is designed to absorb ink, so it does a great job absorbing these dirty toxins. For your school supplies, look for binders, paper, even pencils and pens made from as much post-consumer recycled content as possible. This is material you put out for curbside recycling that is made into new products. I’m amazed at how much good eco school supplies can be found at stores like Staples. Recycled products are getting easier to find and they are priced pretty good, too!”

That title was a mouthful, geez! ANYWAY, for you sun-savvy girls out there… There’s a new product called UV Sun Sense that I have to share with you. It’s brilliant! It’s a wristband that you can wear when you’re at the beach (or outdoors in general). You put it on your wrist, apply sunscreen on your body (and it!), and the band will then change color to let you know when it’s time to reapply sunscreen or to get out the sun! Fantastic! Visit UVSunSense.com to buy!

The other night I was invited to a bag signing for Sujean Rim’s new line of handbags she did for Harvey’s. Sujean Rim is an NYC based artist and I always think she does the coolest illustrations for Daily Candy’s web site, so I couldn’t wait to see what she came up with for the bags.
