OMG, can I just say I am OBSESSED with Natalie? She is BEYOND gorgeous, no? I got the breakdown on her look for her hair and makeup…
MAKEUP: Jeanine Lobell (creator of Stila, btw)…
“My inspiration for Natalie on Oscar night was her dress… The colour was a fantastic orchid, and being Rodarte, I wanted to do cool punk rock sexy fairy make up.” Jeanine used CHANEL Silky Eye Shadow Duo in Orient Express. She used the pale pink as a base and the dark purple smoked around the eye on the lid and smudged in lower lash line. She added CHANEL Intense Eye Pencil in Noir inside the eye, and lots of CHANEL Inimitable Mascara in Noir-Black for thick sexy lashes. She used CHANEL Perfect Brows in Brun, using the two colours to make a strong brow, but keeping it soft. Jeanine then used CHANEL Powder Blush in Narcisse, a flattering, bright pink shade, high on the cheek bones. She then added CHANEL Glossimer in Galactic for a more pale lavender lip. Finally, for a sexy, bronze sheen, Jeanine applied CHANEL Sheer Brilliance in Sunkissed on Natalie’s arms, shoulders, and decollete.

Hmm, to tell you the truth I didn’t LOVE Miley’s dress (what did you guys think?) but I did think her makeup was pretty and fresh. So, of course, I got the lowdown on her makeup look from Mark celebrity makeup artist Mai Quynh:
“Miley’s dress was an ombre, princess-inspired dress with a lot of detail, so we wanted to keep her makeup soft. On the base of her eyelids, I swept on mark I-Mark Custom Pick Eyeshadow in Latte. I then blended mark I-Mark Custom Pick Eyeshadow in Espresso lightly in the creases and smudged underneath as a liner. Lastly, I coated her eyelashes with two coats of mark Make It Big Lash Plumping Mascara in Raven.”

I wore this outfit to a friend’s 21st birthday outing a few weeks ago. She’s one of my best friends from high
school
and we decided to meet up with about four other girls (our old high
school clique), have dinner, then walk around downtown until we figured
out what else to do.
I chose this as the look of the day
because it’s chic (since it was a birthday celebration) but casual
(enough to stroll around in the city on a Friday night).

Maybe some of you are starting to think about prom?! I know it’s a little far
away, BUT now is the time to get inspired. There are so many awards shows to
look at, especially this week’s Oscars!
Now, let’s look at some of my
favorites. For some reason, they’re all strapless (obviously a big trend) but
each are pretty different so hopefully you’ll find something you
like!

When it comes to my absolute favorite thing to wear, it’s hands down DRESSES. Dresses, dresses, dresses. I
don’t
think there is anything more feminine, or form-flattering, or more
versatile. I’m not really big on wearing pants, and HATE shopping for
jeans, so a dress is always a welcome option. But since the weather is
still cold, don’t be afraid to wear a dress with a pair of tights (all
crazy colors welcome!) and a cardigan over top.

Look of the day, YES!
I think this is a totally comfy and laid-back look that could work for
any occasion. The stole/collar is thrifted, and is a great piece that
adds interest to any outfit.
The silk dress is Converse by
John Varvatos; supercool and amazingly effortless. Black sheer tights
and black boots that my mother wore back in the day tied this look
together.
This look is inspired by my own fantasies of visiting Narnia, and from the character Ginger in the awesome film Casino!

Naomi (Lily Loveless) thinks she has the world worked out, and puts people in their appropriate boxes. There is her hippy mum (Olivia Colman); the adoration from Emily (Kathryn Prescott); Cook’s (Jack O’Connell) insulting misogyny; and her politics teacher, Kieron’s (Ardal O’Hanlon), flattery. She thinks she has them all sussed, and that it’s only …
