Get Miley Cyrus’ Red Carpet Makeup Tips

miley-beauty-look.jpgSweet and simple does it for Miley Cyrus. Mark celebrity makeup artist Mai Quynh (who created Miley’s gorgeous red carpet look at the American Music awards) gives us the breakdown:

“Miley’s dress was a short, black and gold, strapless dress from Marchesa with chiffon drapey overlay. The inspiration was Grecian, with a kick back to the 80’s. So we wanted to keep her makeup pretty, polished and sweet, different than her performance look. I used mark I-Glimmer Illuminating Eye Color in Bronzed and Smoked. I mixed the two colors by applying Bronzed first from her lash line to the lid and Smoked from her lash line, blending upwards to the crease. Then, I lined her eyes with mark On the Edge Hook Up Liquid Eyeliner in Cleo, from the middle of the eye and gently winged it upwards and outwards. I coated her eyelashes with four coats of mark Make It Big Lash Plumping Mascara in Raven. For her face, I applied mark Face Xpert Flawless Touch Makeup in Natural with the mark Foundation Brush wherever needed. Next, I applied mark Matte-nificent Oil-Absorbing Powder in Buff/Natural. Lastly, I mixed mark Good Glowing Blush Custom Color Palette in Mosaic and in Golden Glo and applied it to the apples of Miley’s cheeks and blended towards the ear. For the finishing touch, I applied mark Glow Baby Glow Hook Up Lip Gloss in Secret to her lips.”

P.S. - Miley’s outfit that night made our Best Dressed list! See her head-to-toe look here.

Single Review: Fake Problems - The Dream Team

The Dream Team is just one of the exciting songs to emerge from the forthcoming album from Fake Problems which is released on March 16. At the start of the track, I think I’m listening to a crazy new hillbilly band featuring My Chemical Romance’s father-to-be Gerard Way until they start whining about wanting to be “the American Dream.” which for so…

Album Review: Roger Sanchez – Renaissance 3D

Roger Sanchez might not necessarily be a name that we are all too familiar with, but that doesn’t mean that he’s not there in the music we listen to. More famously known for his 8 or so hour long sets in Ibiza, or any club that is lucky enough to have him, the DJ/producer has released a compilation of his work in a monstrous 3 CD’s, and 34 tracks. …

Single Review: Ray LaMontagne - You Are The Best Thing

You Are The Best Thing is one of those songs that you want as the theme to your life. Am I on drugs I hear you ask? Well no, you know when you see films of people’s lives and there is that bit where there is a song playing and there is clip after clip of them falling in love, rolling around in fields (ooh!) getting married, having kids… that kind of thing.
