I paid the Lower East Side gem a visit Monday night for a cut, color, glaze, oxygen facial and manicure… what better way to kickstart the week? Ricardo decided to darken my brassy hair to black and added a glaze for an updated look. While the color set, makeup artist Colleen Runne started on my oxygen facial, a treatment that offers immediate hydration and rejuvenation. Colleen is full of great makeup tips as well, and, after my facial, she gave me a natural glow using her arsenal of products that she keeps in a painters box. She loves Giorgio Armani foundation and uses a pink egg-shaped sponge called the Beauty Blender for soft finish. She’s also an expert pimple concealer and turned the nasty number above my lip into a Cindy Crawford mole, how creative! While Colleen was sorting out my face, I also got a speedy manicure and learned the secret to soft cuticles: olive oil!!!

I was so glammed up by the end that everyone at the salon insisted I had to go out, preferably on a date. Sadly, when I got home the only date I had was with a stack of textbooks, it’s finals week!
