Bonjour from Paris! My name’s Kelly, I’m a Seventeen reader, a fashion student, and an aspiring stylist! Originally from
Philadelphia, I’m lucky enough to be studying abroad at the Paris
Fashion Institute during Paris Fashion Week. Check back for all the
behind-the-scenes action (and cute clothes!) straight from the runway!
Migrating bird was the central theme of Cacharel’s Spring/Summer 2009 collection shown in Paris at the Carousel du Louvre.
Cacharel
played up the catwalk with the sound of enchanting music paired with
chirping birds that eventually changed into loud girly pop music. The
lowly hung clouds and flying bird cutouts were illuminated to give this
show a flirty, feminine feel.

When you first meet Diane Pernet it is quite intimidating: picture a woman with a
towering black beehive of hair wrapped in a black veil that cascades to
her waist, cateye sunglasses and platform wedges, dressed all in black,
and complemented by scarlet red lips and a cool, cooing voice! She is the
Paris fashion icon best known for creating one of the most influential
fashion blogs, A Shaded View on Fashion (It’s called this because she
is always wearing her signature cat eyed sunglasses!), where she
covers upcoming and established designers and edgy fashion events all across
the globe.
Diane has been everything in the industry: a designer, a critic, a
talent scout, a photogrpaher, a blogger, and now, she even has fashion film within
her grasp. On September 26th, 2008, Diane presented Paris’s first annual
A Shaded View on Fashion Film Festival at the Jeu de Paume. Some 90
minutes of film were divided over the three-day festival. Designers,
photographers, stylists and people from all walks of the industry
submitted everything from documentaries to short and feature films
for the festival.
