There is no doubt about it, the high waisted, tapered leg trouser is here, so embrace it! Tracy Reese opened her Spring show with this chic, monocromatic white look. Her collection was a mix of pastels, brights and florals, girly silhouettes, sparkly chandelier earrings and pointy pumps. The beaded flapper necklaces added a nice touch.

I
don’t know about you girls, but my favorite model is 15 year old Karlie
Kloss. She’s the cutest and walks in all the best shows and told the Daily that
she’s looking forward to watching tv with her grandmother when she’s
not trotting down the runway :-). I saw her at the Spring Gap
Presentation, which is being designed by Patrick Robinson, formerly of
Paco Rabanne. Gap’s spring line is fresh and bright. Cuffs and cardigans
complimented the colored denim, and I’m crazy about the Pierre Hardy
for Gap strappy platform sandals that are available in an array of
pretty hues!

Hi
girls! Today is a sunnier, more beautiful day and as such my spirits
are up in anticipation of the Tracy Reese show. Girls, if you’ve
haven’t heard of Tracy Reese then you need to Google her right now! She
creates the girliest, flirtiest dresses, tops and skirts that I’ve ever
seen! Ah, I wish I was a celebrity so that I could request Tracy Reese
dresses all the time! In fact, check out Emma Roberts talking it up
with Tracy. I bet she’s putting in her requests from Tracy’s Spring
2009 collection right now! Lucky Emma gets to shop even before the
clothes make it into the stores!

Ann
was nice enough to give us a ride in her car (yep, ladies, work hard so
you too can become the editor of the biggest teen mag!). Anyway, Jill
Stuart always has her show in the entrance of the NYC Library on 5th
Avenue. Check out the view down the runway. It’s probably the longest
one ever!
Her show was full of pretty, ethereal, floaty dresses.
It had a ballet dancer vibe too. The makeup was to die for: the girls
looked like princess fairies from another planet with pinks & blues
on their fresh faces!

The Ruffian show was the last spot on my agenda for an otherwise SOAKED Saturday night in NYC. I was happy to see the j’adorable Emma Roberts (wearing Ruffian, obvs!) across from me. The collection was inspired by an east coast girl - California bound, with the hopes to meet a rocker boy, hence the ruffle shirts paired with short shorts, printed blazers and mini skirts. I loved the fringe Christian Louboutin heels which added a touch of hippie chick.

With Toronto Film Festival now in full swing, and enjoying an excellent run of top quality films, but it’s not the big named films such as Burn After Reading starring Brad Pitt and George Clooney or Benicio Del Toro’s Che that’s grabbing the limelight but the smaller pictures that are lighting up the festival. And it’s the gritty realism, at the po…
