My morning started bright and early (especially for a Sunday!) at Lela
Rose. As my cameraman Miguel and I (Check out my backstage beauty videos and podcasts to see what we’re filming!) rolled up to the tents I was reminded of
the Miley Cyrus lyric “Getting up at 8 am’s crazy!” from my new
favorite song, “Breakout.” Amen, sister!
This
is Tina Turnbow, the lead makeup artist for the show, who just happens
to be modeling the show’s hair look. We LOVE Tina’s makeup at Seventeen (check out the pretty makeup trend story she just did in our September
issue). This season she gave the girls a sun and wind-kissed effect to
make them look like they were just coming back from a Safari…the
beauty benefits of being outside all day without any of the pain.
Genius! To achieve it she applied a soft pink convertible color from
Stila on the girls’ lips and cheeks and then used a fluffy brush to
dust bronzer over the pink, sweeping it from one cheek, across the nose
to the other cheek in a horizontal motion. Bottom line: so pretty, so
wearable.

Here’s a totally cool/random thing you should check out!
Okay, I know you guys are obsessed with MAC makeup (you tell me so every time we do a poll on seventeen.com!), but what I love is how much the brand is embracing the web to give you direct access to their incredible network of makeup artists. As I was waiting backstage at Malandrino to talk to lead makeup artist James Kaliardos, MAC PR maven Heather (who gets me backstage at every show so I can tell you guys about it) told me about MAC’s presence on Twitter. Twitter lets you guys read up-to-the minute updates from MAC’s makeup artists as they race from show to show painting the prettiest faces at New York fashion week.
Check it out by clicking “read more!” Warning: you might get hooked.

This is a great collection. I took the 1 train to 18th street for the presentation and was greeted by really beautiful and architechtual clothes. I just loved the splash of color with the neutrals. Plus, I am a sucker for anything that looks Rockabilly-check out the white creeper shoes. If you’re not sure what I’m talking about, just Google the reference. It’s like a 50s rock n’ roll look. I love it!
Oh, plus I got to get home at a decent hour tonight (the only day I didn’t work until 9pm!) so I got to feed little Thaddeus some lentils and pears. Yum!

Jess108, you wondered what my stuck-on-a-desert-island cleanser would be… Right now, I’m pretty obsessed with Dermalogica’s Micro Foliant. Otherwise, it’d be La Roche Posay’s Effaclar, which is super gentle and PH neutral! What cleansers do you guys love?

England weren’t the only home nation celebrating last night as Scotland beat Iceland and Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland all escaped defeats. Only Wales let us down, losing away to Russia.
