So many stars today like Jennifer Lopez, Justin Timberlake, Madonna and Britney Spears have attempted to juggle the two careers of acting and singing usually without much success. But kicking this trend off was the King of Rock and Roll himself Elvis Presley who launched a film career after his rise to fame as a singer making his big screen debut i…

Despite Andy Murray’s impressive run to the final of the US Open former world number one and defending champion was one match too far for the Scot as Roger Federer powered to the title. A little bit of history was made at Flushing Meadows last night as the Swiss player became the first player ever to win five consecutive titles as two separate Gran…

Shri’s new album ‘Seven Steps’ comes to us straight from the gut, sitting on a fat bed of bass grooves, which were not as present in his earlier releases. Sounding like a fresh take on his own sound, with a lot more attitude; less polite but still with a strong Indian accent to it. The LP takes funked up versions of Bombay street beats, where big …

The Big Pink are Londoners Robbie Furze and Milo Cordell, two lifelong friends whose home studio experiments have bore some of the most inspiring British music of 2008. Entirely characteristic of The Big Pink’s unique furrow, the hope-filled darkness of Too Young To Love points to both the digital hardcore and art-rock undergrounds, while Robbie’s…

The Road is based on the Pulitzer Prize-winner bestseller from acclaimed novelist Cormac McCarthy (”No Country For Old Men”), “The Road” is a post-apocalyptic dramatic thriller about a father and his son walking alone through burned America. Nothing moves in the ravaged landscape save the ash on the wind. It is cold enough to crack stones, and when the snow falls it is gray.

Hi girly girls! Today I was backstage at Rosa Cha, the
sexiest swimsuit designer there is, but to my surprise I find out Rosa
Cha is a guy! Who knew? Actually everyone does, except me. Hehe. Sorry
Rosa! So MAC make-up genius Gordon Espinet and his team are creating
the makeup looks for the show, but they also use fashion week as an
opportunity to road-test new products in their collection. Check out my
friend Heather Park, who works on MAC’s public
relations team, sporting
their new Chromaline eye product! Isn’t it the bomb? I can’t wait to
line my eyes with some of that! It’s a cream gel that comes in fun
colors like violet and yellow and you can use it as eyeliner, shadow or
body paint. Perfect! Just in time for Halloween, you can get your hands
on it this month (it’s literally shipping into stores as I
write this).

I spent the last few days in San Diego at the ASR
skate/surf show with Tina so I just got into NY this morning at
5:30am fresh off the red-eye! I was a little groggy at first but the
opening boyfriend blazer and pretty leopard print at my first show,
Karen Walker, were a good wake-up. A not-so-good yet equally efficient
wake-up was the the torrential downpour and umbrella-breaking wind in
NY today. After Karen Walker I attended Catherine Holstein, a young
NY-based designer who showed a few cool new shapes like the silk party
romper, and this unique long tiered skirt that had a fantastic swing to
it.

Hi girls! I’m not going to lie: beauty editors don’t get
invited to as many shows as fashion editors! We do however have crazy
access to the backstage area (I get invited by the different cosmetic
companies like MAC and Aveda who sponsor these fashion shows). This is
where I get the lowdown on all the fun hair and makeup trends for the
upcoming season (and my story ideas for you!).
