WHAT SHES WEARING: "A long sleeve striped tee from Delia, a hig- waisted jean skirt. Forever 21, a leather woven belt from VIA UNO, a black bow bag from Arden B, and a yellow and black feathers headband. Forever21. I’m in love with high waisted skirts and feathers.  I plan out my outfits around these two pieces too many times for my own good."

SHOUT OUT: "My favorite designers are Marc Jacobs, Lagerfeld and all the great unknown designers behind  Forever21 and H&M."

STREET CHIC: "My style inspiration can come from a magazine or a stroll in the supermarket. You just spot a girl with a nice outfit and that immediately inspires you."

GLOBE TROTTER: "My look changes with my mood. I can wake up feeling British, or South African, or French. It all depends."

EXTRA MILE: "Right now, I can’t live without my yellow feathers headband and by big black ring. But I’m definitely incorporating a lot of high waisted shorts, skirts, and also those great oxford style pumps into  my wardrobe."

SNAP TO IT: "I love photography. It has become a passion of mine, and something that takes me away from the everyday routine. I often set up shoots after I get home from school. The websites I post my photographs on, Flickr and Lookbook.nu, are filled with great fashion that inspires me a great deal."

LIP SERVICE: "My best beauty secret?  Smith’s Rosebud Salve."

HOMETOWN: New York, New York

WHAT SHE’S WEARING: "I am wearing a shirt and cardigan I found thrifting, flats from Calvin Klein, and a skirt and patterned tights from American Apparel. I also purchased the gold chains from American Apparel, but added a huge ‘pocket watch’ my Grandpa gave me to the thicker necklace. I was watching Flavor of Love and thought, ‘Why not?’"

NEAR AND FAR
: "I really enjoy jlinsnider, who is a relatively new designer from Las Vegas. I appreciate the whole you-can-rock-this-walking-down-the-street aspect to her collections. But then again, I love the dramatic, haute couture vibe John Galliano brings to the runway, and the rocker-chic designs of Anna Sui. I’m a melting pot!"

MEDIA MOGUL: "My wardrobe is definitely inspired by music. Whatever is playing on my iPod translates to how I dress. The forties and fifties are great too. Who can ever have too much of Hollywood glamour or Marilyn Monroe?"

EDIT SET: "Right now I find myself slaving away to prim. Magazine, simply because I’m the Editor. Running a magazine definitely influences my style. I deal with so many interesting people every day and each of them brings a different element to my style."

I LOVE NY: "My favorite shop is Rags-A-Gogo, a really cool vintage store in the city. I can always depend on them to find whatever I’m looking for."

CITY CHIC: "I hate to sound cliche, but the little black dress is classic.  It fits every style!"

AGE

HOMETOWN: Yucaipa, California

WHAT SHE’S WEARING: "I purchased the red dress and shoes from a vintage store called Hobo’s, the jacket is from the Goodwill, and the bag is from Harrods in London. I’m really into playing with proportions and color combinations. I’m always into something new, like pairing knee socks with a dress."

FILM FORUM: "I definitely don’t have one style. I change my style around all the time. But at the moment I’m really influenced by Mod culture and fashion, the Twenties, and the Forties. I love watching silent films from the Twenties to get inspired. I can always check out Buster Keaton’s lead gal for fashion tips."

MOOD INDIGO: "I have a jean jacket that I purchased from a Goodwill which is now my favorite clothing item. It has become my new best friend. I can wear it with almost anything."

THE EXTRA MILE: "Listening to music can always spark creative ideas. I love to travel. It’s a great way to pick up new ideas and find little stores with clothes that you know no one back home will have. Photography can inspire a wardrobe. When I take photos, I get new ideas for color combinations and patterns."

BUY RIGHT: "Thrift stores are always great to find one of a kind pieces. It also makes it possible to create a new look every day. It gives people something to talk about."

GLAMOURAMA: "I don’t understand when dressing up went out of style. People are so casual these days, especially teenagers. It would be nice to see people dressing up for parties or wearing their best clothes on an airplane. After all, a great pair of heels is always timeless."

THE EYES HAVE IT: "I can’t live without my Benefit eyebrow kit. As long as you have bold eyebrows, you don’t need anything else."

Arabelle Sicardi

AGE
: 15
HOMETOWN: Jersey City, New Jersey

WHAT SHE’S WEARING: "I’m wearing vintage leather shorts I purchased in L.A., a floral night top that I was given as part of a set from my grandmother, and a cardigan I got in Taipei at the street markets. My rosary and other jewelry are an accumulation of gifts, things I’ve found, and hand-me-downs. Everything I wear is either something that my parent’s designed when they were in the industry, from their respective closets, or from my grandmother’s travels."

OPPOSITES ATTRACT: "The combination of soft and hard elements is something I’m not afraid of. Leather is a favorite material of mine and ruffly floral is a given for the warmer months. A lot of girls might criticize the predictability of leather with floral, but hey: if it’s so popular it must work, right?"

WHAT’S IN A NAME: "Peter Jensen is definitely one of my inspirations–his last ready-to-wear was quirky and very easy to recreate. Alexander Wang is the epitome of summer relaxation to me. Rei Kawakubo and Junya Watanabe were the first designers I ever really loved. And of course, Lanvin, Balenciaga and Helmut Lang are also on my list."

WACK ATTACK: "I never leave the house without one dose of ‘oomph’ in my outfit. I’m attracted to things people think are weird. Harem pants are probably my favorite things in the entire world. I also have a huge affinity for power ranger suits (I wrote a haiku on them on my blog Fashion Pirates once) and skyscraper heels. I like to go overboard."

ASIA MAJOR: "My favorite place to shop is Taipei, Taiwan. It’s where I was born and where I get away with all my bank-breaking shopping. I could spend my entire life in the little underground malls near my apartment there and never get tired. Youth style there is just so refreshing."

EXTRA CREDIT: "I have about six necklaces I wear on a near-daily basis. Givenchy and Erin Wasson’s jewelry line are the most inspirational things in terms of accessories I’ve seen in awhile."

OFF THE DEEP END: "I’m a competitive swimmer year round, so a lot of my time is dedicated to that. For the most part it isn’t a huge part of my fashion choices, though. Goggles aren’t something I’d incorporate into my daily wear –I have enough of those in the water!"

2LEGIT: "I’d love to see jodhpurs and dropped waist pants come back into style! MC Hammer is my hero and Marc Jacobs doubly for bringing them back his resort collection."

GREEN ENVY:  "Leather jackets go with everything. My mother designed a forest green bomber jacket for me, and I wear it all the time!"

WHAT SHE’S WEARING: "I’m wearing a jumper from Bershka, a hat and undershirt from H&M, and shoes by a Japanese label called Tsubo. I like that the hat adds an androgynous look to an otherwise girly outfit."

A NEW YORK MINUTE: "My favorite designer is Alexander Wang. His stylist Erin Wasson is also my fashion muse. I love both her work and her personal style."

BOYS CLUB: "I love to incorporate menswear pieces into my wardrobe. Men’s trousers, oxfords and hats, I like to mix them with my more feminine pieces. Right now, every outfit I wear is topped with a stylish fedora."

BOARD ROOM
: "I like to wear clothes that let me feel free, since I love to skate, longboard, and surf. Afterall, Ziggy Marley is one of my icons!"

BOOT UP: "Even though I know they are ugly, I love Uggs. I must admit that I still wear mine all the time!"

PRIMA BALLERINA: "An item that I think is classic? A pair of Repetto Zizi’s."

SOFT FOCUS: "I can’t live without my Nivea moturizer. I’ve used it since I was four!"

: "I’m wearing a cream lace shirt from a little boutique in Melbourne, a black cardi, and a skirt purchased from Jetty Surf. I like the combination of floral and lace –it’s both casual and formal."

HOUSE ARREST: "Balmain and Luella Bartley are my two favorite designers at the moment for their casual and classy appeal. I especially enjoyed Balmain’s Spring/Summer ‘08 collection. I love the hippy-look."

FEMME FATALE: "I love Daisy Lowe’s style and I’m liking Chloe Sevigny’s lately, too! Gotta love Chloe’s shoes!"

BLACK MAGIC:  "My style is forever changing. Right now, I’m wearing a lot of high-waisted skirts, long over-the-shoulder bags, and ankle boots with laces. I try not to stick to the same thing for too long though.  But you can never go wrong with black. From cute dresses, to skirts and sweaters, black dominates my closet."

SITE SPECIFIC: "I have my own blog, Quiet Milk,  where I write about art, fashion, photography and what I do on the weekends. I really enjoy working on that, seeing what other people in different countries wear, and getting a taste for what’s around me."

LOVE, ACTUALLY: "I’m liking the Australian fashion line Lover the label at the moment. They have really classic pieces in mostly cream and lighter colors for that occasional ‘girly look.’"
